What You Should Know
Step 1. Sign Up and Get Equipped
- Register as an Ambassador: See the form above to sign up, allowing you to select specific colleges, causes, or programs to champion.
- Get Your Custom Link: You will be emailed a unique tracking link that allows you to track how many gifts and how much money you have raised.
- Obtain Your Toolkit: See below for resources that may prove helpful, such as sample social media posts and email templates to make sharing easy.
- Share Your Story: Explain why you are supporting the university—share personal experiences, memories, or why a specific program is important to you.
- Use Social Media: Post on Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and Instagram using the official event hashtags—#SPUGivingDay #GiveFalconSTRONG.
- Utilize Your Network: Reach out directly via social media, email, text, or phone calls to friends, family, and colleagues to encourage them to donate. Share your unique tracking link, asking them to use the link to give.
- Engage in Challenges: On Giving Day, make sure to participate in specific, time-sensitive matching challenges to help maximize donations and win bonus funds for your cause. Visit givingday.spu.edu days prior to Giving Day to learn of challenge and match opportunities coming on Giving Day.
- Lead by Example: Make a gift of any size to the area you are enthusiastic about.
- Use Your Link: Always use your personalized tracking link when making your own gift or sharing, ensuring your impact is recorded.
- Send Thanks: Show appreciation to those in your network who donated.
- Post Updates: Share SPU leaderboard updates, progress toward goals, and celebrate milestones during the day.
Tips for Success
- Share Your "Why": People give to people. Share a brief, personal story about what SPU means to you, especially its faith-based impact.
