Rowing

With a roster of more than 30 student-athletes, SPU women's rowing is unique in providing competitive athletic opportunities to experienced high school rowers as well as walk-ons from other sporting backgrounds. SPU Rowing strives to be a perennial powerhouse at the NCAA Division II level while also fostering a healthy environment and holistic experience. In 2023, we placed third at the NCAA Championships, where both the V8+ and V4+ made the grand final in their events. With these recent achievements, we are building momentum toward earning not simply a NCAA bid, but ultimately a national title!

We are committed to the following core values as a means to achieve our goals: Stewardship, Progress, and Unity. We know that without care for our shell house, equipment, waterway, and people, we cannot be successful. We aim for incremental progress because we understand process drives outcomes. We are committed to being a welcoming, inclusive team for all who are willing to work hard, have fun, and be kind!

2024 Fundraising Goals:

Cross-Regional Travel: Earning a bid to NCAAs requires showing that the West Region is the best region! With rising travel costs, we need your help prove ourselves against the East and South! (Cost: ~$15,000)

Rowing Equipment Maintenance & Additions: We have almost everything we need, but it requires regular maintenance and updates. Help us replace shoes (~$100) or a CoxBox (~$500), service a coaching launch (~$1,500), or maybe even add a RowPerfect3 (~$3,500) or pair (~$8,000) to our fleet!

We are grateful for your support and look forward to seeing you on the shores of our race courses in the near future!
